The Air Warrior handheld computer system is a rugged lightweight portable workstation that operates with the high performance Windows 2000 Operating System in configurations optimised for handheld or wearable requirements. The Air Warrior is constructed using a two-piece cast aluminium chassis. Rubber bumpers provide additional protection to the unit. The unit is designed to meet the environmental requirements of MIL-STD-810E for both Ground Mobile and Airborne.
The Air Warrior is powered by the state-of-the-art Transmeta Crusoe 5800 processor. The CPU runs at up to 1GHz and supports up to 576 MB of on board RAM, while operating at extremely low power. The unit features a very fast video processor with 8MB of video RAM separate from system memory. A 6.4” diagonal LCD with integrated touch panel provides the system human interface. The display is 640 x 480 pixels with up to 256K colours and is sunlight readable. An optional keyboard/mouse can be provided that folds over the display when not in. The Air Warrior provides an internal hard disk drive with up to 30 GB storage capacity. It uses the latest 1.8” drives that are inherently very rugged and also low power. The basic unit provides external VGA, USB, and Ethernet interfaces via a 19-pin Fischer connector.
