Steatites' Rugged Systems Division have been using their rugged design expertise to provide bespoke rugged printers and mobile printing solutions for military customers since 1982. Utilising Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) print engines and mounting them into custom-made protective enclosures, our mobile rugged printing solutions are deployed on Royal Navy vessels, used for aircraft ground support, under canvas and even in the open air.
Steatite have developed a range of rugged A4 printers, shock mounted for use in harsh environment situations as well as bespoke in-vehicle printers specifically designed for installation into Emergency Services front line appliances.
Products from our range of ndura RUGGED® printers were used in the last Gulf War and have been part of many military projects since. Steatites' mobile rugged printers play a huge part in the Bowman programme, which is providing a £2.2 billion upgrade to the communication networks of UK forces which includes Steatite rugged computing equipment that is fitted into military vehicles, training facilities and Royal Navy vessels.
Steatite has its own in-house design team which uses SolidWorks® 3D design software, this software allows Blazepoint to design, prototype and test products at our Oxford facility, to ensure they meet standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and a given IP rating.
